Plum Cottage

Sleeps 6
(a double, a twin bunk & shepherd's hut)

Apple and Plum are a pair of traditional 18th century cottages set within their own walled garden and adjoining orchard on the Deans Court estate. Recently redecorated the cottages have a contemporary yet homely feel.

Recently fully redecorated in Farrow & Ball contemporary colours and reupholstered vintage furniture provide the perfect space in which to relax and unwind. Take a drink, or sketchpad, to the terrace and enjoy the view across the Stour Valley, where the cows browse on the meadow by the cricket pitch and the towers of Wimborne Minster hover above our ‘crinkle-crankle’ kitchen garden wall.

Plum sleeps 6 - but with a special twist, as the third bedroom is the Shepherd’s Hut in its garden. With a double bed and a wood-burning stove, nothing could be cosier. An elm dining table in Plum Cottage seating ten is perfect if you take both cottages and all want to dine together. Sisal carpets lead to simple, beautiful bedrooms where linen blinds frame the meadow views. A modern, fully equipped country kitchen makes cooking easy and fun - just wait until you see the Deans Court welcome basket our guests receive on arrival with local, homemade treats! Expect to be greeted with freshly baked bread from our local bakery, locally sourced free-range eggs, home-baked treats, locally produced jam and of course milk in the fridge and a selection of Dorset teas and ground coffee.

Although within the Deans Court estate the cottages are only a few-minutes' walk into Wimborne town centre. The rest of Dorset is within easy reach by car, with the blue flag beaches of Sandbanks and Bournemouth half an hour away, while the Jurassic Coast can be reached either via the little chain ferry from Sandbanks, or by land via Wareham (40 mins).
