Apple Cottage

“Lovely cottage to hide from the storms and the floods! Clean warm spacious dog-friendly with a log burner- what more do you need?” - January '24

“Wonderful cottage perfect location for a peaceful get away. Fantastic welcome pack everything you could possibly need. Jonathan and the house keepers very professional and friendly nothing too much trouble. Proof is in the pudding and we and our family return many times year after year.” - December '23

“Delightful cottage. Very cosy, beautifully furnished with everything you could need. Quiet yet minutes walk into town.” - September '23

“Quintessentially English! We got married at Deans Court and rented both the Apple & Plum cottages for our groomsmen and bridesmaids. They were an absolutely perfect base for our weekend and the setting is so picturesque. The cottages are beautifully decorated, very well equipped with plenty of thoughtful little touches, like the shortbread and Dorset jam which were delicious.” - August '23

“The accommodation at Deans Court is truly wonderful. Our wedding party stayed here for three nights in July 2023. The amenities are wonderful, beautifully decorated and the little touches (such as the welcome food basket) really don't go unnoticed. The location is also perfect, a stones throw away from Wimborne town.” - August '23

“A beautiful fairytale cottage in picture book surroundings. Everything you might need to enjoy a fortnight's stay is included in the well-equipped kitchen.
The pretty garden in front, with table and chairs, and the field with goats at the back added to the bucolic atmosphere.”
- June '23

“Great venue, clean lovely hamper on arrival and the management was extremely helpful ensuring we had everything we needed. Always helpful when you have 3 children. Thank you” - June '23

“Another wonderful stay at Apple cottage - comfortable and relaxing and such a wonderful setting yet easily accessible to Wimborne town. We have stayed many times and will no doubt be back” - March '23

“From the moment we stepped through the door we felt at home, warm, inviting with sumptuous sofa and chairs. The tranquility really helped us to relax even though we were nearly in the middle of town, the sunsets were glorius and who couldn't appreciate the views? Plus the company of "Nanny & Billy" kept us amused.” - February '23

“We absolutely loved Apple Cottage in its tranquil surroundings. Tastefully decorated with lovely extras such as homemade shortbread, jams, coffee, tea and milk with artisan bread on the side. The cottage was cosy warm when we arrived and plenty of wood for the log burner. Really lovely people on the Estate whoever you chatted to and an amazing cafe and shop as part of Deans Court. Wimborne is a lovely town with The Wimborne Pig being our favourite restaurant as well as Petit Prince and Deans court for delicious breakfasts. We loved it so much we are booking again for next year.” - December '22

“Really lovely cottage, very comfortable, stylish yet relaxed & great little luxuries like Bramley toilettes. Very generous welcome gifts & endless logs for the cosy stove. It is so quiet & calm but only 2 minutes walk from Wimborne.” - November '22

“Lovely cosy homely cottage in a brilliant location with everything you need for a wonderful break.” - September '22

“We booked the two cottages and The Gate House for our son's wedding in Wimborne and it could not have been more perfect. Very clean, well furnished and exceptionally well equipped accommodation with a glorious outlook from Apple and Plum cottages over the surrounding countryside. The delicious welcome pack of essentials and vase of fresh flowers were a special touch. Jonathan and staff were charming and super helpful. A truly memorable weekend in an idyllic setting. Thank you” - August '22

“As four old (literally!) friends, we had a really lovely holiday in Apple cottage which had been recommended to me. Everything about the cottage, it’s amazing garden and surrounding countryside makes you relax straight away. We even saw a little red deer in the field. Jonathan and the staff were so helpful, leaving us goodies and were there to answer any questions. Once through the imposing estate gates we were in the charming little town of Wimborne with it’s beautiful old Minster. We are certainly going to book again.” - June '22

“What a fabulous weekend! Having both cottages made my whole wedding calm, relaxed and wonderful. Getting ready whilst looking out onto the beautiful fields and having photos in my the garden was like a dream come true. The cottages cater for everyone, the home made cookies and fresh milk and bread were a lovely added extra! We couldn’t of been happier over the weekend and can’t wait to come back at some point!” - May '22

“Our group stayed at both cottages and the Gate House for a family wedding. The cottages are just delightful...immaculately presented, scrupulously clean and with all sorts of additional little touches which made our stay perfect. Was very pleased to see the environmentally friendly efforts as well(Who gives a c**p loo roll, SMOL household cleaner etc, recycling bins). And the setting is idyllic. I can only thoroughly and completely recommend. Plus a 5 minute max walk into lovely Wimborne” - April '22

“We had both cottages so that we could have a full family occasion. There were 13 of us altogether including two babies. The administration for booking was easy and most things included on the web site. The cottages are in an ideal site. Close to the town for convenience but with fields and countryside all around. On arrival, the cottages were immaculate looking as if we were the first occupants. There was also the added security of the gates at the entrance to the driveway. The welcome hamper was a nice touch having all of the items needed initially. We had a very memorable weekend with the weather sunny but cold. Everything we needed was there. Thanks to all involved in the provision of the cottages.” - April '22

“Apple Cottage looks magical on the Deans Court website and it’s even more special when you see it for the first time. The cottages are tucked away down a narrow side street in the town centre. An electric gate opens to let you into this peaceful hidden place. Apple Cottage is a delightful house that is carefully decorated to reflect its age. The rooms are all a good size and well furnished. The kitchen contains everything you need and the bathrooms are well designed. We all enjoyed using the large bath and having long breakfasts around the spacious dining table. The sitting room has a wood burner and there’s plenty of wood in a nearby outhouse. The windows mainly look over a large field giving you the sense of being in the country rather than a town. Our weekend stay just didn’t feel long enough and we all agreed we felt very much at home and would like to stay again. What a gem of a place.” - March '22

“We had such a relaxing weekend in Apple Cottage. The house was beautifully presented and very cosy…just what we needed for a cold winters weekend. We were spoiled by Jonathan and Ali with the supplies provided for the weekend and the house is extremely well kitted out, including for young children (we had 2x under 2). Our weekend was very kindly gifted as part of an NHS raffle which I was nominated for and we are incredibly grateful to all the team at Deans Court for making us so welcome in Wimborne.” - January '22

“Amazing.....spotlessly clean, very comfortable, quiet, beautiful surroundings and all the little 'extras' such as tea, coffee, eggs etc were very much appreciated. Everyone staying in the cottage left on Monday very rested and it was all down to you and your staff xx” - January '22

Plum Cottage

“We had a fantastic week at Plum Cottage. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The cottage is extremely cosy, tastefully decorated and well equipped for a week away. The garden was a big hit with our dogs, although one of them did manage to escape into next door’s garden. Seeing deers in the back field in the morning was wonderful. Even though the cottage is on the edge of the town of Wimborne Minster, it felt very much that you were in the countryside. The shepherd’s hut was a quirky annex for our son, who came down to visit us. It was comfortable and surprisingly warm. We would love to come back to Plum Cottage some time in the future.” - October ‘23

“Wonderful stay at Plum cottage - comfortable and relaxing within a gorgeous setting and so close to Wimborne town. We have stayed before and will stay again (when we can get a booking).” - September ‘23

“Plum Cottage is a perfect secret hideaway overlooking open fields in a pretty garden, yet minutes walk into Wimborne town centre. We love it! It is beautifully styled in an authentic and unfussy way.” - July ‘23

“We had a wonderful stay at Plum Cottage, Deans Court whilst here for a wedding. The interior of the property is immaculately decorated with plenty of character to make them such a beautiful setting. Some wonderful breakfast treats provided with the property (which were generously supplied) and lovely touches to make the stay extra special. The bedrooms had lovely linen and were so comfortable.” - June ‘23

“So charming, so comfortable, the Shepardss Hut is a great attraction. We were made to feel so "at home" by all the Deans Court staff, so much so we decided we could live here, permanently, (if only).” - February ‘23

“Totally in love with the beautiful Deanscourt cottages they are both super comfortable and spacious. A rural stay with the benefit of a quaint market town a few minutes walk away. My favourite things are probably the waking up to the view, hearing the bird song and the sound of the church bells on Sunday mornings. There’s only one downside, and that is having to leave.” - December ‘22

“Fantastic last minute family getaway - beautiful location with gorgeous facilities in the heart of Wimborne Minster. We look forward to coming again!” - November ‘22

“Our 4 day stay at Plum Cottage was superb. We took over the 2 cottages which was ideal for a larger family. All we needed for a very comfortable week. Will being staying again.” - September ‘22

“We had a fabulous 4-night stay in Plum Cottage. Beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well equipped cottage in perfect surroundings. So peaceful yet so close to all the amenities one could wish for whilst on holiday. In hindsight we wish we had booked for the full 7 nights. Will one day be back I'm sure and will recommend to friends and relatives for sure.” - September ‘22

“We had the best of both worlds staying at Plum cottage, it was set in a beautiful garden overlooking fields to the rear and then a 5 minute stroll took you into Wimborne, with lovely pubs, restaurants and shops. Would definitely love to return one day.” - July ‘22

“A beautiful location, so convenient for the town yet so quiet. Plenty of soft white towels and lovely toiletries and the grocery pack was much appreciated, as was the vase of flowers. We particularly enjoyed the tour of Deans Court house, with the fascinating history of the Hanam family.” - May ‘22

“Staying at Plum Cottage over our wedding weekend at Deans Court was incredible. My husband and his ushers stayed the night before our wedding and then we used the remainder of our weekend to relax and take it all in. It is absolutely picturesque with views over the countryside at the rear. The cottage itself has everything you need and the small touches provided by the staff at Deans Court made our stay one of a kind. We will always remember our stay at Deans Court and the special weekend we enjoyed celebrating with family and friends.” - April ‘22

“Just home from a lovely stay at Plum cottage! We got married at Deans Court and decided to rent the cottage for the week over the wedding. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and although has been modernised has kept a lot of charm and character. I was in the beautiful bath within an hour of arriving and then every day after! We were welcomed with homemade bread, fresh eggs, biscuits, milk, apple juice, teas and coffees which was a nice touch. We liked that there were helpful notes throughout the cottage and shepherd's hut of how to work the tech rather than all in one place which would be easily forgotten after check in. Jonathan has been extremely helpful from booking to checkout, helping us with whatever query we have had. Julia at the Deans Court cafe was amazing and provided us with an afternoon tea for the wedding, the groundsmen helped us out on the wedding day with a ladder so I could climb a tree for a photograph and we met the housekeepers when they were cleaning the cottage next door who will also lovely and went to pick us fresh flowers when realising it was our wedding day, EVERYONE is super friendly and lovely!” - April ‘22

“Just got back from our stay and with three generations I wasn’t sure if it was going to be suitable for all but in fact everyone was happy and enjoyed the whole experience. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and beautiful views and skies, almost like being in a Constable painting. The shepherd’s hut was the most popular by far and apparently really comfortable and warm. We are now planning our next visit as there is much more we want to see and do” - March ‘22

“Another great stay at Plum cottage. Relaxing and quiet and comfortable in great surroundings” - March ‘22

“Plum was just the perfect secluded, quiet and beautifully fitted out hideaway ever! Such a relaxing weekend snuggling around the fire as the rain softly pitted-patter on windows… wonderful, wonderful!” - March ‘22

“Our daughter and her family stayed in Plum cottage and loved every minute in there. As with Apple Cottage it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, loved all the little extras such as tea, coffee etc. The children loved their bunk beds and everyone slept very well......so quiet and the children loved their surroundings x” - January ‘22

The Gate House

“What a special place The Gate House is. It was everything I’d hoped for in location, accommodation and facilities to bring all the family together. There was space for everyone to spread out; the media room and hot tub were the icing on the cake!” - April ‘24

“We had a great time in the Gate House for our family gathering, with ages from 5 to 67 there was ample space for every one to do as they pleased and Winterbourne is a great place to visit.” - April ‘24

“Our 4th stay at the gate house .. this year was extra special as we were celebrating my 80th bday!! We all had sn amazing time grandchildren, children and us grandparents .. A lovely break away to a lovely home!!” - February ‘24

“We booked the gate house for my daughter and her friends and they had a ball. It had everything we needed and we loved the space the bedrooms and the garden with hot tub.
It was everything my daughter wanted and more.”
- June ‘23

“Absolutely amazing! Couldn’t have asked for anything more, what a lovely place for us to stay a few days after our wedding!” - June ‘23

“We had a lovely full family weekend at the Gate House. The children absolutely loved the games room, hot tub and playing badminton in the garden. We had some lovely walks along the river with the dog and Granny loved having the church on the doorstep. Didn't realise how central it was when we booked but was perfect. So much space too, 12 people and 2 dogs and still plenty of room to escape each other 😉” - May ‘23

“What a superb place to celebrate my 60th birthday with a group of friends! The house is magnificent. Beautifully decorated and set back from any road but just two or three minutes into the town! It is a haven of tranquility. The large games / TV / movie room is a real plus for a big group in the evening. Every detail is thought of, and the hot tub was welcome for relation after walks around Brownsea Island and Kingston Lacy nearby. The lovely cafe and shop next door should not be missed.” - April ‘23

“Fabulous house to have a great ladies weekend, with lots of space to accommodate 11 of us very easily, such a great location with pubs and restaurants very close, but the house is lovely and peaceful, personally I loved listening to the bells Sunday morning.” - March ‘23

“The Gatehouse is a perfect venue for a large group. There was 10 (and one dog) in our party with plenty of space. Everything was supplied so you'll only need to bring your luggage. There was a large vase of roses on the kitchen table to welcome us. And tea, coffee and milk etc. so you can put your feet up with a cuppa before unpacking! We enjoyed a fabulous mini break in an historic home and would recommend it to anyone.” - February ‘23

“Absolutely perfect for our family get together. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped house that enabled us to have a relaxing, and fun time. The local produce was much appreciated and enjoyed. Would love to plan a return visit.” - February ‘23

“Great accommodation-really warm and comfortable and well equipped.” - November ‘22

“The Gate House was perfect for our Girls Long Weekend Away. The house has versatile accommodation and character in spades. We loved the Cinema Room and chilled out in there on a very rainy Sunday evening, watching 3 films! The property's extremely close proximity to the bars, restaurants and shops in Wimborne is a real bonus - being able to walk home after a night out is fabulous. You won't be disturbed by noise from the town though, apart from the Minster bells on a Sunday morning.” - October ‘22

“It speaks volumes that this was our fourth stay in the Gate House at Deans Court. There is a lot to like about this wonderful place. It easily accommodates 16 people and is a real home from home. You can confidently turn up, unpack your bags and start enjoying your stay knowing that everything you need has been provided. And should you run into any problems Jonathan is easy to contact and very keen to help. Situated a few minutes walk from all that Wimborne has to offer in the way of shops, pubs and cafes, it manages to feel as if you’re out in the countryside because of the proximity of the grounds of Deans Court house. Comfortable, clean, warm and stylish, what more could you want.” - October ‘22

“Our fourth visit and we still enjoy the Gatehouse as much as the first time. A beautiful, interesting building in a great location. All our needs are well-catered for with a warm, comfortable vibe. Looking forward to the next time.” - September ‘22

“Our 2nd stay at The Gate House. A beautiful cottage which was extremely well equipped.” - July ‘22

“This is a beautiful property, everything was perfect and spotlessly clean. It was very well equipped and maintained. It is literally a minutes walk from Wimborne town centre which is lovely. Although it is so close to the town centre there is absolutely no noise heard from it in the house or garden. Jonathan was particularly helpful at all times and especially when we had to contact out of office hours with a query. We would rate the property and people as 5 stars without hesitation. Hope to return sometime. Thank you to the Deansgate Team.” - June ‘22

“Our multi-generation family (ages 2 to 68) break was lovely. The house wss spacious enough for different groups to get together for games, chatter, snacks (even a temporary office for those who had to work) but we all assembled round the dining table for dinner. The location is great - from many options for driving on days out, to pottering locally and shopping last minute for staying in. The hot tub was well used and much appreciated. We had hoped to do a family photo with all of us wearing your thoughtfully provided towelling robes - but it seems we were much too busy.” - April ‘22

“We had a wonderful time at the Gate House celebrating a family birthday. There was plenty of space for all of us - 8 adults and 7 children. The little ones loved exploring the house and the games room was a great idea for both children and adults. A lovely break for all the family thank you.” - February ‘22

“Beautiful house. Excellent location. Warm, comfortable and spacious. Parking is fabulous, you can literally back the car up to the front door to load and unload. The housekeepers are to be congratulated as an old house is difficult to keep clean and this was pristine. Best equipped house we have ever rented. You never run out of anything. Very short walk to Waitrose if needed. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops on the doorstep. With eight people staying, the code entry system was ideal. No key sharing. We had a wonderful time.” - February ‘22

“What an amazing place to stay. My family of 16, spread over three generations, spent a truly memorable weekend here. It exceeded our expectations and is a real gem.” - January ‘22

“The Gate House was a dream. Considering we had 13 adults staying there, 2 children, a baby and a dog we had so much room to spread out with the rooms and seating even when the occupants of Apple Cottage and Plum Cottage were with us (a total of 21 adults, 4 children aged 2-9, a baby and a dog) so everyone had room to move. Again, this house was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed and more to make this an amazing stay to celebrate a belated 80th birthday for my husbands mother. I doubt if many people could find a place or location such as yours and come away and be able to say how well everyone slept and how chilled it was.” - January ‘22

“A wonderful stay at The Gate House. Such a beautiful house, with so much space for our long awaited family get together. Only there for a long weekend, but so relaxing felt as if we had been there so much longer.” - January ‘22
